Chiropractic Care in Morocco

Whether you're in Agadir, visiting from Casablanca or Marrakech, or here on holiday, expert chiropractic care is closer than you think. Led by Ayyoub Ouchen, D.C., trained in the United Kingdom.

What Is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic is a hands-on, drug-free approach to diagnosing and treating problems with the spine, joints, and muscles. Using targeted manual adjustments and mobilisation techniques, a chiropractor works to relieve pain, restore movement, and address the root cause of issues like back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and sports injuries — rather than just masking symptoms.

Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, or Osteopath — What's the Difference?

This is one of the most common questions people ask before booking treatment in Morocco. Here's a simple breakdown:

Chiropractor

Main focus
Spine, joints & nervous system
Typical technique
Precise manual spinal adjustments
Best for
Back/neck pain, sciatica, disc issues
Session style
Hands-on, targeted, often shorter

Physiotherapist (Kiné)

Main focus
Rehab, mobility, muscle strength
Typical technique
Exercises, stretching, physical therapy
Best for
Recovery after injury or surgery
Session style
Active, exercise-based, often longer courses

Osteopath

Main focus
Whole-body structural balance
Typical technique
Gentle manipulation & soft tissue
Best for
General tension, mobility issues
Session style
Hands-on, gentle, whole-body

Many patients benefit from more than one of these — the right choice depends on your specific condition. If you're unsure, a first consultation can help identify the best approach for you.

Is Chiropractic Regulated in Morocco? What to Check Before You Book

Chiropractic doesn't yet have dedicated licensing legislation in Morocco, which means the title "chiropractor" isn't formally protected by law the way it is in countries like France or the UK. In practice, this makes it especially important to check who you're actually seeing.

What to look for: a genuine Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) qualification from an accredited training program — not a short certificate course.

Dr. Ayyoub Ouchen, D.C. trained as a Doctor of Chiropractic in the United Kingdom (2018–2021, 4,200+ training hours), studying multiple established approaches including Palmer, Gonstead, and McTimoney Chiropractic techniques, alongside Maitland and Mulligan joint mobilisation methods and further training through IAOMM. In total, his training covers 170+ manual therapy and chiropractic techniques.

During his final year of training, Dr. Ouchen experienced a herniated disc himself. Rather than treat it as simply a setback, he used the experience to understand his future patients from the inside — not just the clinical picture, but the pain, uncertainty, and functional limitations that come with a spinal condition. That perspective still shapes how he treats patients today.
